Retro Cactus Gouache and Ink
I have quite a thing for cacti. Especially in an abstract fashion, there is so much you can do with them to make them vibrant. Have you ever seen a real cactus? They're nothing special to look at (aside from structurally of course). The colors are very dim greens and browns but I love changing their look!
This idea kind of just popped into my head and I imaged it more as a graphic than a piece of fine art. I sketched the cacti with my .45mm micron ink pen and then filled in the illustrations with Arteza gouache paint.
Once I had finished this step and shaded in the proper areas, I used pink Liquitex acrylic paint to fill in the background.
